Team Leader

Department: 088 - Forensic Multidisciplinary Team
Location: Orlando, FL

The FMT Team Leader is responsible for the daily operations of the FMT program. This program is adapted from the Florida Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) model. Each team will have the capacity to serve a total of 45 individuals at any given time. The FMT model is comprised of a self-contained support team responsible for directly providing or coordinating the majority of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services according to the range of services specified in Section B.2. Services shall be individualized, comply with each individualís court order, and be provided primarily in out-of-office settings.

It is the Team Leaderís responsibility to ensure adherence to the FMT model, which means that the program must be recovery oriented, promote empowerment, and encourage personal responsibility. Guiding principles include participant choice, cultural competence, person-centered planning, stakeholder inclusion, and meaningful input by the individual into their treatment. The FMTs shall promote the safety of the individuals and the community at large while providing oversight and structure to individuals who need community-based services and supports. The FMT shall base services on the principles of Trauma Informed Care.

A successful Team Leader will promote an atmosphere of care and trust among staff members and for the consumers. Clear communication with staff and community partners is necessary. Promotion of the program by way of community education and relationship development with referring parties is essential. An understanding of the legal system and of psychiatric illness are foundational.  

Team Leader The Team Leader must be a full-time employee and possess a Florida license in one of the following professions:  (a)                                     Clinical Social Worker;      (b)                                     Marriage & Family Therapist;(c)                                     Mental Health Counselor;(d)                                     Psychiatrist;(e)                                     Registered Nurse; or (f)                                      Psychologist.The Team Leader is responsible for administrative and clinical supervision of the FMT and functions as a practicing clinician. The Team Leader must have at least one year of full-time work experience with individuals with serious mental illnesses as well as prior supervision experience.

  •  The ability to provide clinical and administrative oversight of program and staff. This includes hiring and evaluating team members performance and making corrective actions if needed. Oversight of financial/budget aspects of the program and maintenance of documentation needed to reconcile trust, enhancement and petty cash accounts.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT: Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually. Other training and/or professional development may be assigned due to evolution of programs.
