Program Supervisor

Department: 014 - Achieving Independence and Mastery Skills - Leesburg
Location: Leesburg, FL

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Oversees the administrative, clinical and vocational operation of a Recovery/Supported Employment Program. Supervises and coordinates the delivery of services to adults 18 years of age and older within the AIMS program.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Interviewing, hiring, promoting, terminating and other relevant personnel actions of staff in collaboration with appropriate center staff. Knowledgeable of Medicaid rules and regulations regarding service provision to the mental health and substance abuse populations. Establishes working relationships with Vocational Rehabilitation program. Supervises large number of staff and peer personnel. Monitors daily class, group and individual services provided to consumers attending the AIMS program. Coordinate and participate in staff and consumer meetings to insure needs of the program are being met. Provide appropriate reporting internally and externally to fulfill all contractual and statutory obligations.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Advanced knowledge of Psychiatric Rehabilitation intervention skills; medication; job coaching; job readiness, job developing. Strong leadership skills required to mentor, coach and supervise staff and consumers. Excellent time management skills to deal with high volume consumer and staff census.

JUDGMENT: Good clinical judgment is mandatory. Ability to make sound decisions independently is essential to this position.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education: Masterís degree in Mental Health, Rehabilitation or Human Services field from an accredited university.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years direct experience with people with severe mental illness and/or substance abuse issues and knowledge of recovery and employment are required. One year of supervisory experience is required.

 

Personal Qualities: Employee must be empathetic, respectful, and treat consumers and staff with dignity. Initiative, accuracy, and dependability are important. Must be able to advocate for consumerís rights and provide hope and belief that consumers are able to recover. Ability to be flexible and work as an effective team player is essential.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises all components of the AIMS program.

 

Special Factors: Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor and collaborates with the treatment team on a regular basis. Must be able to assist consumer in preparation of Recovery Plan.

 

Staff Development: Completes all administrative and competency requirements as indicated in the Individual Training Plan. Attends trainings on Recovery and Supported Employment Program.
