Child Intervention and Residential Services Director

Department: 059 - Potentials - Child
Location: Leesburg, FL

FUNCTION: This position provides oversight of assessment, intervention, collaboration, and referral services to adolescents having potential risk for drug, alcohol, or emotional difficulties and their families. This position also provides oversight of Our Turning Point Ranch, a therapeutic group home for girls.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: This employee manages the program contract ensuring that services are delivered as designed, that budget is met and that the outcome measures defined by the program are accomplished. Keeps abreast of changing program requirements and outcome measures by consulting with the District and State levels. Maintains effective communication and good working conditions with school board, personnel at local school sites, referral agencies and the community at large. Provides administrative assistance, support and supervision to program staff. Provides review of clinical records to ensure timely and complete documentation of services activities in accordance with Center policies and procedures. Performs annual written evaluations and provides feedback sessions to review documents with all personnel supervised. Directs the consumer data collection process, ensuring that information is accurately compiled, is reported in appropriate formats and that deadlines are met. Reviews completed reports for accuracy, and then distributes information. Serves as the clinical expert in the design and development of new programs and services and the modification of existing programs and services. Schedules and conducts staffing, both individual and group, to ensure interaction among program staff. The incumbent may provide direct services to consumers as time permits, including intake, assessment, evaluation, referral, case management, counseling, and educational support activities. Handles crisis calls from consumers and non-consumers. Participates in professional organization related to program services provided by LifeStream Behavioral Center. Maintains all training requirements and any professional certification or license by participating in continuing education programs. Participates in school and community groups related to issues and programs in which LifeStream Behavioral Center is involved and which serve to improve the quality of life in the community. Participates in strategic planning for the organization. Provides in-service training to community agencies regarding LifeStream Behavioral Center programs and services as assigned. Represents LifeStream Behavioral Center and participates in networking opportunities with other organization such as Juvenile Justice Council, FADAA, Family Service Planning Teams, Healthy Families, and other partner agency meetings as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND JOB SKILLS: Demonstrated competence in clinical behavioral health services. Demonstrates good clinical skill with the ability to make good clinical decisions about cases. Has excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer knowledge is vital to the satisfactory performance of this position.

JUDGMENT: Ability to make on the spot decisions based on the consumerís and staffís current status, past functioning level and potential strengths and weaknesses. Must have the ability to determine appropriate resources to meet the need of consumers.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

 

Education: Masterís Degree in Human Services or related field.

 

Experience: Two years successful clinical/counseling experience, with supervisory experience helpful.

 

Personal Qualities: Initiative, dependability and accuracy are important. Must be able to work with a minimum of direct supervision. Must be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with families and school personnel. Ability to work within various systems.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Primary direct supervision of all staff in Potentials, Youth and Family Recovery Program and Our Turning Point Ranch (OTPR). Assist in the Coordination of LSBC Disaster Relief efforts as necessary.

 

Special Factors: Must be able to meet deadlines and maintain high standards for documentation.

 

Essential Functions: Develop and maintain professional, therapeutic relationship with youth and their families. Must be able to work cooperatively with other agencies involved with the youth. Develop and enhance partnership with community agencies and coalitions.

 

Staff Development: Complete all administrative and competency requirements according to Individual Training Plan.
